Mid-January  Klondike 300 Sled Dog Race The Klondike 300 Sled Dog Race is a qualifier for the Iditarod Race and runs 300 miles from the Call of the Wild in Big Lake to the Forks Roadhouse in Petersville, Alaska and back.

February  Annual Anchor's Aweigh Boat Show Alaska's Largest Boat Show - held in Anchorage. Dozens of vendors display boats, outboards, marine electronics, and boating accessories of all types. At the Dena’ina Civic & Convention Center in Anchorage.

Early February  Klondike 400 Snowmobile Race The Klondike 400 Snow Machine Race is a one machine cross-country race of 400 miles from the Call of the Wild in Big Lake to the Forks Roadhouse in Petersville, Alaska, and return.
