A lot of the footage is obviously posed for the camera, and those looking for more detailed information should consider Dave McCracken's "Modern Mining Techniques" video. Still, the video is a real bargain for the price. 50 minutes. 

Scorpion Gold Stinger VHS Garrett Video Productions Instructional video covering the operation and field methods to use while operating the Garrett Scorpion Gold Stinger metal detector. Unlike many gold nugget detectors, this metal detector features a separate coin-hunting discrimination circuit. This makes it a more versatile detector than most nugget hunting machines. This video will help get the full performance out of this detector, and is an excellent supplement to the rather basic owner's manual that comes with the detector. Bench testing procedures are covered, good tuning instructions are given, and some field operationg tips are discussed. 24 minutes.  

Nugget Secrets #1 DVD with Jack Lange This video features detector expert Jack Lange on a nugget detecting trip to Queensland, Australia. The video shows Jack using the Minelab SD2000 and SD2100 detectors in the search for gold. Although Minelab owners will find this information particularly interesting, the vast majority of what you can learn from this video is not about specific detectors. Jack explains how to read whether the ground has been detected before, and how to tell how good a job was done. He expains the importance of determining the depth to bedrock and how to do so. Various rocks that indicate gold may be nearby are discussed and shown. A few sequences show some of those large Australian being unearthed! The last portions use the Minelab XT17000 to explain how VLF detectors differ from the Minelab SD series, and how to best employ them for success. Coil types and sizes are explained, and discrimination and mineralization sounds are shown by example. 90 minutes.  

Nugget Secrets #2 DVD with Jack Lange This is a really great nugget detecting video! Almost two hours of detailed information on nugget detecting. Jack starts out showing how to use books and maps to research a new area in New South Wales, Australia. The importance of good research to insure success at nugget hunting cannot be overestimated and Jack explains the steps involved in making sure you are headed for a good area. You then follow Jack into this new area and he explains how to look for old mine workings and their importance. He chooses various places to detect with the Minelab SD2000 and explains why he choose them. You will not find a better video showing what it is like to prospect new areas for gold. Next comes a section on VLF detectors and the fine points of using them in heavily mineralized ground.The Minelab XT18000 is used for the field examples. Finally, a great segment on detecting stream bottoms finishes out the video. Every person interested in nugget detecting should own this video! 110 minute DVD

White's Goldmaster 3 VHS with Jimmy Sierra, Greg Moscini, Mike Bowers, and Jim Williams This very informative video has a detailed explanation of the various controls on the Goldmaster 3. The information will also work very well to cover the Goldmaster II and Goldmaster V/SAT detectors, as they have the same but fewer controls. There is lots of actual field footage showing the detector in use, excellent coverage of recovery techniques, and information on hot rocks and how to tune for bad ground mineralization. This otherwise excellent video is marred by poor audio that fades in and out and has some wind noise. It's understandable, but it helps to have a remote volume control in-hand. 50 minutes.
