Any Coiltek open spoke design is waterproof. And no you are not crazy. The 24" x 12" UFO is a killer coil for HUGE beaches. You can cover ground at a normal walking speed. For actual in water I'd be looking at a Platypus DD.

thanks steve
man oh man coiltek has lots of choices.
i get this urge every few months..........usually it is for a normal PI, but my buddy bill d has done really well with a borrowed 40000, got me thinking.................va beach ................well...........lots of bobbie pins, hair pins, hooks and metal flakes.
i have pretty much ruled out the 4800 for those reasons plus my vivid memory of 2004 when i owned a eric foster goldquestSS for 2 months.......and they tell me the 4800 is even more deeper....................i can not pull the trigger on it.
