Very nice trommel/jig set up. Didn't see any grizzly on top of the hopper unless it's adjustable and was just laying flat. Is the trommel chain driven? What are you using for rollers under the trommel?

Sorry guys, but I think there stuff is not very beef and looked a little joey to me. Load that with an excavator he said. What a little mini-x. maybe. A 300 or 400 would tear that thing up in a day. The steel look too light a gauge to me. Maybe it is made for pre-screened material or fine sands? I could fab much beefer equipment than that, but I have ECD. Excessive compulsive disorder. Haha. The axles on that rig I hope were temp. because with the weight they should be 8 luge with load range E at the minimum.

They must have one hell of a big powder oven for those things. He was worried about the primer and uneven colors. Even powder coat goes bye bye fast with stone and sands milling on it. I would be more worried that it was made out of pinner steel.

    Hi Guys

Yes this unit would never see more than 10 tph. We would use our large trommels for Alaska and the Americas. I have a few pics of the mid-sized unit in South Africa. On our Yuba claim we have to process cobbles very similar to Alaska. Because this unit is used for diamonds we feed it by what's called an ore bin. Essentially it's a large channel with a incorporated grizzly that we dump into. We have a man who is spraying high pressure water into the mix as it sluices down into the hopper to break up diamondiferous soil. You are correct, this unit will be fed by a mini-excavator or the ore bin. The pay gravel with the diamonds only has cobbles about 3" wide. In fact, the unit's steel is quite substantial for it's size. I realize you cannot see that in the videos. We use full 1/2 box with the hopper being 5/8. There is no angle or half box. The drive mechanism is totally up to the customer. This unit is run by electric motor with a gear reducer on a roller drive system. Over the past 40 years we have used everything from hydraulics to full chain to electrics. We prefer electrics now because we can run a whole plant system off one generator which equals 1 gas tank instead of 8 small engines to feed. Electrics are cheap, fast, and easy to replace whereas a full chain drive can be costly for sprocket repair. Hydraulics are definitely not the way to go especially in humid-tropical conditions. The unit is more of a sampling plant hence the axles but can also be dropped onto it's base. We have a customer in Alaska who has used one for over 20 years with no problem. Of course the paint or powder comes off with time on the inside. Here a few more videos that zoom in a little more.
