Well as luck would have it, Steve was out of the Gold Bug Special Edition.
I spoke with Fisher today and the Gold Bug Pro is to be out in August. So, I guess I'll wait and see if we can get comparisons of the 3 diferent models before I buy one. Fisher wouldn't tell me what the differences of the 3 models are other than software changes.

There have been a discussion on Dankowskiforum about an issue on one machine. Has anyone tested this with a different GB-SE.

Seems like maybe a wrap around effect that was overlooked.

Hi Jim,

Your order is cancelled as believe it or not demand is off the charts. Everything in the pipeline has takers. Mostly it is high gold prices, but from my simple and VERY BRIEF tests the unit is hot on low conductors for the price. High conductor issues? I have to ask why you'd (not you - generic) buy the unit? For half or silver dollars? No, this unit packs bang for the buck on gold or other low conductors. If people want more, for gosh sakes spend a little more! This is a low dollar unit.

I am dismayed at how this release has been handled. What makes each version different one from the other? Figure it out. I am sorry to say I am too busy right now to determine what is what. I am off again prospecting in two days, and figuring out what a GBSE does or does not do compared to a Cabelas GB unit or a GB Pro is something I cannot achieve in the next two days, especially as the GB Pro does not exist yet.
