Steve, Have you compared the GMT w/the Gold max coil, to the MXT max 15" ? I would think that the 15" would give better depth. I guess my question is, How much? Doug

I do not have the big coil yet and at 10 below with two feet of snow won't be doing any comparisons soon. No question in my mind though. The surface size of the MXT Max is like twice that of the Goldmax. There will be a depth loss on the smallest nuggets compared to the GMT with a smaller coil. As the nugget size increases there will be a point where they both get identical depth. And from that point forward the larger the nugget gets, the more depth advantage you will see with the MXT combo. In other words, it all depends on the size of the nugget.

Sorry Steve, I wasn't thinking. It is hard to think snow, when it is 65 degrees. Wish you warmer weather soon. Doug

I have one and it is a great coil.... maybe I will get to come up to gains creek someday with it.

Steve- I was looking at the new 15" coil on whites website and it recomends the Loop Stabilizer 802-5190-1 when using this coil, what is this and are you going to be carrying it in you store. Not sure if it is even necessary to have ???

It is a device that locks the angle of the coil. Usually used for underwater detecting. I am not fond of them as I like to tweak the angle of the coil for the ground I am on. But I am going to stock a few.

Steve- Would you need to change any of the settings on the MXT for this new 15" Max? I saw a picture of it and it doesn't look flat on the underside. Dave

Depending on the ground the gain may need to be lowered. It has a slightly dished bottom.
