2012 Pay to Mine Camp in Alaska
Does anyone know about any pay to mine camps in Alaska still taking reservations? Ganes Creek is booked for all of 2012 and, to my knowledge, Moore Creek is not doing pay to mine in 2012.
Can anyone send me a link or lead? I believe that I can put together a group of 4-6 guys from this area.

Here are a couple I personally know of.
http://www.chickengold.com/
Basic inexpensive daily outings.
http://www.goldfeverprospecting.net/
More advanced, all inclusive week long outings.

Rusty:
Thanks for the input. Our group is mainly into metal detecting. Do you have any experience with either of these two operations for metal detectorists?

Try http://www.akpub.com/akttt/parad.html
They cater to detectors. The others are more for dredging, etc.

Steve:
Spot on. Thanks for your input. If Ganes Creek and Moore Creek are ranked as #10's - what would be the five highest ranked sites (and why) from your list of about 15 sites?

If you are talking metal detecting there are only three I would pay good money to visit. Ganes, Moore, and Paradise. Crow Creek also rates for me but only because it is a cheap date. Getting hard to detect gold there these days.

Sorry I didn't make the connection between Moore creek and detecting. The two I listed do not specialize in detecting. I am sure there is detectable gold in their areas but they are primarily dredge and high banking.

Dont forget: www.cachecreekcabins.com in the Peters Hills district west of Talkeetna. It is not listed on the http://www.detectorprospector.com website for some reason. I am pretty sure those folks are still in business.

An oversight on my part - thanks for pointing that out Jim. I will add them soon.
