AMDS Medium Highbanker
This AMDS exclusive combines a highly portable highbanker box
with a genuine Honda WX15 pump. This self-priming pump delivers up to 72 gallons
a minute and is powered by a Honda 2.1 HP mini 4-stroke engine. Best of all this
pump only weighs 20 pounds.
This is basically a Keene HBCK52 sluice converted to
highbanker kit, with the Keene P90GH motor and pump replaced with the WX15. This
allows us to lower the price by $100 while including an easier operating
self-priming pump. The downside is the WX15, while more than adequate for
highbanking, is not really powerful enough to run a suction dredge attachment on
this unit. If you thought you might ever want to run this unit with a suction
dredge attachment, spend the extra $100 and get it set up with the P90GH.
The power sluice hopper opening measures 13.5" x 13.5" and
features a grate with 1/2" openings. Material shoveled into the hopper is washed
by the spray bar system and rocks larger than the 1/2" grate slide off to be discarded.
Hint - check the discard pile with a metal detector if large nuggets are suspected!
The minus 1/2" material drops into a sluice box 45" long by 10" wide.
A removable punch plate lies directly under the hopper. The remainder of the sluice has ribbed
carpet overlain by an expanded metal screen which is held down by eight riffles. The riffles are easily removed by flipping two quick release
latches for easy cleanup. The four frame legs are easily adjustable to get the
proper angle for running the sluice. The unit includes 8 feet of 1.5" suction hose
and screen for the pump and 25 feet of 1.25" layflat hose to run to the power sluice,
allowing the sluice to be set up up to 30 feet from the water. The unit also includes
a flare so that the hopper box can be removed from the sluice and the unit used
as a normal in-stream sluice box. Total weight of the system is only about 60
lbs.
