Minelab X-Terra 70

The new Minelab X-Terra 70 incorporates features not seen in metal detector technology before, building on the success of the previous X-Terra models. First and foremost is the ability of the detector to sense the coil that is attached to it and adjust it's operating parameters accordingly. The XTerra 70 can actually change operating frequencies depending on the searchcoil that is attached to it. You can choose between 3 kHz, 7.5 kHz, and 18.75 kHz frequencies just by switching coils! The X-Terra 70 also lets you choose between manual or automatic ground balancing and has both normal and saltwater ground balance modes. You can choose between two detection modes - Coin & Relic or the new X-Terra Prospecting Mode.

Other features include multiple audio target settings. You can choose a single tone, 2, 3, or 4 tones... and even multi-tone! Also new on the X-Terra 70 is a threshold tone for detecting those deepest and smallest targets.  Digital numeric discrimination has been expanded to 28 target segments. Digital notch discrimination means that these 28 target categories can be selectively set to either accept or reject the chosen target type. Even coins can be discriminated out, a desirable feature for those who wish to search for jewelry items and not waste time digging pennies. Easy audio and visual pinpointing is available at the touch of a button. Depth indication is instant and automatic, and battery strength is displayed continuously. The five position noise cancel helps eliminate interference from outside electrical sources and other nearby metal detectors and now has an automatic mode. All adjustable setting are can be saved in memory and are instantly available when the detector is reactivated at a later time, with three programmable modes plus an all-metal mode.

All this and more in a lightweight package weighing less than 3 pounds! The entire electronics package is contained in the display/control pod, which plugs into the end of the handle. A fully waterproof 9" concentric 7.5 kHz coil and 18.75 kHz searchcoil are currently available (the 7.5 kHz coil is stock equipment), and more coils are on the way. The ergonomic rod assembly includes a padded four position arm cup with arm strap and integrated detector stand. The earphone jack has a protective cover for when the speaker is in use.

The Minelab X-Terra 70 is an ideal machine for those wanting a versatile, powerful, and yet easy to operate metal detector in a lightweight package. Coin hunters can get good depth while eliminating chosen trash categories. Jewelry hunters can eliminate most coins and ferrous items to concentrate on that gold "sweet spot" lower in the discrimination scale. Relic hunters can search in all-metal while still getting audio and visual target identification. And the manual or automatic ground balance, high sensitivity gain, threshold tone, and 18.75 kHz mode combine to make the Minelab X-Terra 70 very suitable for gold nugget detecting.
