Tesoro Vaquero Metal Detector

The Tesoro Vaquero! We are pretty excited at Alaska Mining & Diving Supply about the Vaquero metal detector from Tesoro. Why? Because our nugget detecting experts have looked at the features and design of the Vaquero and concluded that it has all the makings of a very good entry-level nugget detector. The Vaquero operates in the 14 kHz range, a proven gold-getting frequency. It features a high output transmit oscillator to push the signal deeper and an increased gain for sensitivity to smaller items. The 3-3/4 turn ground balance control allows you to manually tweak the detector for that "just right" ground balance setting. Expert nugget hunters agree that manual ground balancing is preferred for hitting those smallest and deepest nuggets. The threshold based all-metal mode allows you to hear the faintest targets. The 9" x 8" open spoke coil covers the ground well and yet is light in weight. Put this together with the Tesoro "MicroMax" design and you have a detector weighing less than 2.5 pounds!

All this plus the Tesoro ED-180 discrimination circuit. The discriminate mode is fully adjustable and can be a real boon to those nugget detecting when ferrous (man-made iron and steel) trash is abundant, as is common around many old Alaskan mines. Many hot rocks can also be eliminated with the proper amount of discrimination. This same control is what makes the Tesoro Vaquero an all-around coin, jewelry, and relic detector. Just turn the single turn discrimination control up to the desired setting to find the best balance of good versus trash targets. The frequency shift allows the Vaquero to be adjusted to prevent interference from nearby electrical sources, especially other detectors. This means two Vaqueros can operate side-by-side and not interfere with each other.

Because this detector shares searchcoils with the Lobo ST and new Tejon models, it already has a coil selection better than most detectors on the market today. Besides the stock 9"x8" concentric coil, you can also choose the following accessory coils: 5.75" round concentric, 7" elliptical concentric, 8" round concentric, 8.5" round widescan, 10" elliptical widescan, 11" round widescan, and the new 12"x10" open spoke widescan!

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary from state to state.

This instrument is warranted to be free of defects in material and workmanship as long as it is owned by the original consumer purchaser. This warranty is not transferable and is valid only if the warranty registration card has been completed and mailed within 10 days of purchase.

TESORO will, at its option, repair or replace any instrument covered by this warranty, without charge, except for transportation charges, at its factory in Prescott, Arizona.

This warranty excludes batteries, damage caused by leaky batteries, cable breakage due to flexing on body mount units, and wear of the searchcoil housing. Also excluded are instruments which have been abused, altered, or repaired by an unauthorized party.
