Shipping - Items in stock will normally ship within one working day (weekends and holidays excepted). Orders placed on this website for delivery to locations in Alaska will normally be shipped via US Mail, unless otherwise noted. Orders to the other 49 states will be normally shipped via FedEx Ground, unless otherwise noted. See details here.

Backorders - We have one of the largest inventories of it's type in the world. While we strive to keep as complete an inventory as possible, at times we will be out of stock of items when they are ordered. We will notify you if this happens with an estimated delivery time, and to confirm that you still wish to place your order.

Returns - Our primary goal at is customer satisfaction. We want you to be happy with items you purchase from us. However, if you wish to return an item for any reason, we offer the following guidelines. Please keep in mind that this is a general policy statement. It is our wish to be as fair as possible, so please Contact Us if you have specific questions regarding the return of any item.

Nearly all items purchased at AMDS - Alaska Mining & Diving Supply or through our website are returnable within 30 days for a refund, subject to the following conditions:

No refunds will be given in cash

Motorized equipment is not returnable

Electrical parts/components and decals are not returnable

Petroleum products and aerosol cans are not returnable

Non-stocking or special order items are not be returnable

Shipping charges are not refundable

Items must be in new condition and in original packaging to obtain a refund

You must Contact Us for a Return Authorization before returning any item by mail

We do not offer post-order price matching

Below are details on each of these conditions:

Most orders from our website may be returned for a refund if returned within thirty (30) days of your receipt. This policy covers most items but there are exceptions listed below. Items must be in new condition and include all original paperwork/owner's manuals to obtain a full refund.

All items with a manufacturer's warranty are subject to the terms and conditions of the manufacturer's warranty. Such items are generally repaired or replaced AT THE MANUFACTURER'S OPTION and may not be returnable. This includes almost all motorized items such as snowmobiles, generators, boat packages, atvs, etc. We are always happy to provide you with a copy of the manufacturer's warranty prior to your purchase of such an item. If the item is unused it may be possible to return it for a refund if you contact us immediately upon receipt and explain the situation. Under no conditions will shipping charges be refundable, and a refund fee of $50 may be charged in cases where significant paperwork, such as warranties, etc., must be reversed in addition to any fees the manufacture may charge for the same transaction.

Electrical parts/components are subject to internal damage that may not be apparent or tested for. Such damage can be the result of improper installation or subjecting the part to adverse environmental conditions (heat, static electricity). The item may appear to function properly, but it's life may be shortened or the item may suffer from intermittent failures. For this reason, all electrical parts/components are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Petroleum products cannot be retuned since we have no way to know if the product has been contaminated in any way after it leaves our premises. Aerosol cans cannot be returned because small amounts can be used and there is no way to determine if that has occurred.

Special order or non-stocking items may not be returned unless we are able to return them to the original vendor. If we are able to return the item, you will be responsible not only for our restocking fee but any shipping charges and/or return fees charged by the vendor.

Shipping charges ARE NOT refundable, unless an item was shipped to you in error. Manufacturer's warranties almost never cover shipping charges. In the event that an item requires warranty service, you will be responsible for all shipping charges to and from the warranty service center. Returns on items with free shipping will be refunded for the purchase price less the shipping cost originally incurred to send you the items. The $7.50 Minimum Order Fee, if incurred, is not refundable.

Returns on damaged shipments require carrier (U.P.S., POST OFFICE, etc.) notification before calling for Return Authorization. Examine all goods upon receipt for possible shipping damage, and report any such damage to the carrier immediately. The carrier is responsible for any loss or damage incurred while being shipped.

We do not offer post-order price matching when an item's price drops after you buy it. We do have sales on a regular basis, and sale prices are only available at the time of the sale. If you buy an item when we are not having a sale you should expect it may go on sale at a lower price in the future. You will not be refunded the difference should that occur. We consistently offer competitive prices on everything we carry because we know low prices are very important to our customers.

Security - Our online ordering system is secured to protect your personal information. The checkout portion of the ordering process takes place on a secure SSL server. SSL is short for Secure Sockets Layer, a protocol developed by Netscape for transmitting private documents via the Internet. SSL works by using a private key to encrypt data that's transferred over the SSL connection. Both Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer support SSL, and many Web sites use the protocol to obtain confidential user information, such as credit card numbers.

We do not employ a system that will "remember" your account information. Any website that can remember your credit card number, must have the number stored somewhere accessible to the site. This practice has resulted in some credit card numbers being stolen from servers storing account information. We remove all information from the server, and process all orders offline. This means you must reenter your information each time you order, but it also means it is impossible for a hacker to obtain your information.

Keep in mind that credit card security is very much up to you, the credit card holder. Examine your bills monthly. Any incorrect charges may easily be reversed with a simple phone call to your credit card company. Most no longer charge any fee to do so. This is the only way to insure yourself against credit card fraud.

Privacy - The information collected from this website falls into three basic groups:

1. Non-personal Information - Statistical information such as page visits, referring site, and browser type are collected to allow us to design our website to serve you better. This information is collected in aggregate and no attempt is made to single out or identify individuals.

2. Volunteered Personal Information - Any direct contact with our company, whether by email, phone, or by making a purchase results in our recording whatever contact information you give us. Usually this is a name and some for of contact such as phone number, mailing address, or email address. Some email requests for information give us nothing more than an email address. This contact information is usually paired with an area of interest because of the type of inquiry that has been made. For instance, an inquiry about a snowmobile helmet means that the individual has an interest in snowmobiles and related items.

This information may be used at a future date to notify you of information we feel may be of interest to you. We do not engage in bulk mail outs or "spam" type email. Any email sent to you will be because we have information we feel will be of direct interest to you. Any such email will always explain why you were included and how to be removed from future mailings. You may also Contact Us directly at any time and request to be removed from any mailing lists.

3. Personal Financial Information - Any online credit card purchases are encrypted via a secure server connection. You never have to sign in or establish an account to use our website. Many sites store personal and financial information so it does not have to be reentered each time you make a purchase. We believe permanently storing this information on the server to be a risky proposition. The risk may be small, but it exists. Your information is therefore moved off-line and is not available when you make a purchase in the future. This means you are required to reenter information on our order pages that you may have entered before, but we have chosen this method to protect your privacy. We hope you understand this and forgive us the extra typing you have to do.

Any financial information AMDS is provided with as part of a purchase is kept strictly confidential.
